People Are Not Throwaways - An Awareness Poem by S.
66This is S.
People starving on the street
People selling their bodies
Because they have nowhere to go
And nothing to eat
People discarded like garbage
By both friends and family
Those people could be you or me
Junkies with nothing to do
But look forward to some fix
Feeling depressed and hopeless
About their situation
Please, before you judge
Put yourself in their shoes
When you've got no one to rely on
And nothing to look forward to
You've got nothing to lose
And if they try to change their life
Or want to get somewhere
People just want to stereotype
They don't want to listen or care
Because they don't wear the right clothes
Haven't a polished attitude
Have no backing or degree
Meanwhile they're surrounded
By street vultures who treat them like property
They murder them
Objectify them and sell their bodies
And that's the underside of society
Those of you out there
Who might stick your nose in the air
Stereotype or just don't care
Remember you're the lucky ones
So please have compassion
We're all living things
We all have loves, hopes, and dreams
And one person is never
More important than another
We're here to understand each other
And learn our lifes lessons
Whatever they may be
Judgemental people out there, please
Have some humility
People aren't there to be thrown away
They're human beings
Just like you and me.

You echo my thoughts. Never judge another until you have walked in his shoes. We never know how much a person is suffering. Diversity is beautiful. There is room for all..Thank you..I really like this..
